UT:10 News is the Department of Communication and Media’s multi-award winning, student-run, student-produced newscast. News, sports, and other features from the University of Toledo campus and surrounding communities are covered, as well as some national coverage. Launched in 2005, the newscast runs through the COMM 4100 Multimedia Journalism class. UT:10 news is recorded in a fully equipped TV studio. With this hybrid classroom/newsroom/control room experience, students get hands on experience shooting, editing, writing, and producing stories that will be broadcasted on the show and online.
Students looking for internships or jobs post-graduation appreciate how close UT:10 compares to multimedia newsrooms across the country. Many of our alumni land jobs in news as reporters, anchors, and producers, while others head into sports production and reporting, creative services, and corporate communication. Check out our UT:10 Alumni for specific examples.
